Is Your Business Saving Money by taking advantage of Mississippi tax credits???
Mississippi's Renewal Community (RC) designation could save businesses thousands of dollars. This designation, which began January 1, 2002 and continues through December 31, 2009, allows qualified businesses to receive valuable Federal tax credits that can provide businesses with immediate tax relief.
Mississippi's designated RC area consists of 13 counties and 31 municipalities located throughout the central portion of the state. Both new industry and existing businesses are able to take advantage of the tax incentives available through the RC Program. There is no cost associated with participating in the Renewal Community Program.
New! - FEDERAL TAX INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Recently, the United States House of Representatives approved Bill H.R 4213 that would extend the West Central Mississippi Renewal Community Designation for one more year. This program did sunset as of December 31, 2009, since the United States Senate has not approved the appropriate legislation to extend it. If the Senate does adopt legislation to extend the designation, the life of the West Central Mississippi Renewal Community would be retroactive as of January 1, 2010. However, if nothing is accomplished to extend the Renewal Community Program, it could have a negative impact on the economy of 13 counties and 30 municipalities as well as the State as a whole. Therefore, it is time for everyone to contact Senator Thad Cochran and Senator Roger Wicker and urge them to please support legislation to extend the West Central Mississippi Renewal Community. |
